You know, with all of these applications we've been learning about, and uploading to... I have been wondering about the massive storage out there. If you've read any of my blog, you will also know that I do have concerns about having personal data "out there" all over the place. I'm probably a little too cautious, but I know for a fact there are many who don't give it a second thought and probably should. Hey, a personal revelation... I feel kind of the same way about germs.
In the school setting, I think we are pretty behind in the technology world. However, I do not teach the computer classes so maybe... From what I've heard, students have had a hard enough time saving to and retrieving from the server. On the other hand, if they could save to the same place at home and at school, this could help avoid some other headaches.
In my "cloud", I can see the interactivity potential of the new Destiny program and server we are getting. It inspires me of the value in getting individual access set up as soon as possible. It's a little cloud, but it's mine. :-)
I can see the general public making demands and having expectations at their public libraries. Or maybe it's the public libraries that need to teach some of our adult population about these opportunities.
I guess I haven't had too much trouble keeping track of my data, but I've learned to play tricks like emailing documents to myself so I can pick them up at another location.
I viewed the G.ho.st video. It sounds very interesting. I'm not sure if I need that kind of freedom or access. I'm not tied to a lot of electronic devices. On the other hand I do work from several different computers... so someday... Again, this might be something that I will be able to recommend to others with different needs than my own.
