Thing 23

Really, I've made it to Thing 23... and ahead of schedule even. This was a great opportunity to be updated and gain experience in new technology and how it might be applied.

My mind has become more open towards Library 2.0. I guess I just wasn't fully aware of what is out there and how it could be applied. I'm definitely progressing along that continuum.

I really like the organizational potential of LibraryThing for keeping track of and tagging books I've read. Del.icio.us also seems useful, since I find myself at so many different workstations. I also think I could have lots of fun with Flickr and the online image generators. Google.doc was also very interesting and seems to have some definite potential! Finally, YouTube can be just plain fun as well as informative as in news stories and the Common Craft videos.

I still don't feel very compelled or comfortable making "connections" on the web, however the Nings might change all that.

The more you learn the more you realize how much there is to learn. But I have been surprise that already situations have come up at school that I have been able to share tools I learned about in 23 Things. That really made the experience seem worthwhile. If only I learn about the Things, what good is it really?

There were a few glitches in links or how (and if) I could make some of the parts of the Things work, but that is also to be expected. That troubleshooting in itself is part of the learning experience.

I would definitely take part in another experience like this. It would be a continuation of Thing 22... Staying Current.

It was so nice to be guided through the process and introduced to Things I had little or no experience with as well as insights and reminders for things I did.
